Strawberries with Cream
A woman bends forward into a storm of red, cream and black, her back to us, hair loose. The strawberries at her feet almost dissolve into the brushwork, fast and a little reckless, while the white top is the one shape that holds still. I was after the gesture of reaching in, not the finished still life.
