Red Picture
A flood of red pours over the white linen and out of it bodies keep surfacing and dissolving again. One face is caught mid-cry, another tips back with its mouth open, as if a whole crowd were pressing through the paint. I worked wet into wet at arm's length in 2010 and let the red run rather than trying to hold it in place.
