Life Is a Shadow
Three figures stand in almost the same pose, layered one over the other like a body being worn away: one is barely there, just grey line and shadow, one is painted soft and whole, and the last has lost her skin, muscle showing in streaks of red and orange with her arm thrown up. I painted it in 2017, thinking about what stays of a person once everything soft is gone.
