I built this canvas out of tangled bodies, limbs folding into each other until I could barely tell where one figure ended and the next began. The whole surface is almost bleached out, just whites and blush pinks cut through with black lines like ink, and one small red mark at a throat. I wanted the struggle and the tenderness to sit in the same gesture.
